Canada’s largest digital asset investment fund manager announced spreading its roots towards the Middle East and appointed two new strategic advisors.
3iQ’s Objectives
On February 8, 2023, 3iQ Digital Asset Management (3iQ) announced its expansion into the Middle East. Rachel Pether, CFA and Vinay Kapoor are the two new strategic advisors to the new branch in the Middle East. According to the data, the digital asset management company manages around $700 million of assets.
Additionally, 3iQ had already accomplished phase one of its plans to expand into the Middle East by listing the Bitcoin Fund on Nasdaq, Dubai. It is recognized as the Middle East’s first exchange-listed Bitcoin Fund.
However, it was a moment of pride when the CEO of 3iQ, Frederick Pye, rang the Nasdaq, Dubai market’s opening bell in the presence of Hamed Ali, CEO of Nasdaq to celebrate the listing.
According to the company, the two new strategic advisers are well-experienced and fit for the job. Both personalities have mastery in traditional finance and digital asset management. They are supposed to promote 3iQ’s Outsourced Crypto Investment Office (OCIO).

Who are Rachel Pether and Vinay Kapoor
Rachel Pether is an Abu Dhabi-based market expert with 15 years of experience and knowledge of the EMEA region. She has operated SkyBridge Capital’s Middle East operations. Pether was also part of the capital markets and treasury team at Mubadala’s Investment Company for over a decade. She is currently working as the FintechTV host of “Digital Asset Report.”
Rachel provides her presence on the board of several digital assets and data companies, including the Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute, cryptocurrency exchange MidChains and layer 1 blockchain HAQQ.
Vinay Kapoor is a Dubai-based digital asset management professional with 30 years of experience in the EMEA region. He has played an important role in several companies, including the Bank of Singapore, Citibank and Merrill & Lynch. Vinay is also recognized as a founder of Fortius Management Advisors, a private banking advisory firm.
He has also worked as an Authorized Signatory and APEX Board member for over 5 years with an NGO that works with the World Health Organization (WHO).
