Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy Talks About E-commerce Market

Dubai Chambers of Digital Economy has organized the sixth episode of a series of digital industry workshops drawing attention to the e-commerce market.

In that episode, the Dubai Chambers of Digital Economy talked over topics surrounding funding, regulations, infrastructure and talent in the e-commerce industry. The conversation aimed to provide clarity and a better understanding of the changes and challenges faced by e-commerce companies.

According to the official website of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, It is focused on unclosed the entire capability of the digital economy, which has increased to two and a half times faster in comparison to global GDP (Gross Domestic Product) over the former two decades, nearly doubled in size since 2000, and has positioned Dubai as an international Technology is changing at the center.

The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Dubai Chambers, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, mentioned, “Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy is committed to supporting the growth of Dubai’s digital economy and cementing the emirate’s position as a global destination for digital companies.”

Mr Rashed Lootah said that, As such, his team would keep on supporting members through several initiatives, including events such as this one, to ensure that we engage all stakeholders in creating a roadmap and finding solutions to the problems faced by digital industry leaders. 

Development of Landscape of UAE e-commerce 

The United Arab Emirates’ e-commerce landscape has flourished in current years via vital acquisitions, investments and collaborations with global companies. According to the news source, UAE’s e-commerce is the 27th largest market for e-commerce, with an estimated revenue of US$17.2 billion by 2027, at a compound yearly growth rate of 8.4% between 2023–2027.

As reported, the rising momentum of the UAE’s e-commerce sector will continue, supported by the upgrade and remodeling of payment services, increasing orders for online shopping, and a balanced framework investment movement.

Mr. Lootah also believes that, with such a fast-paced e-commerce landscape, it is important to engage with stakeholders in a transparent setting that helps us recognize the challenges faced by organizations and assist us in upgrading Dubai’s business environment, and authorize us to play our part in setting up the Emirates as a leader.

The Chamber is dedicated to engaging all related parties in designing a roadmap and finding solutions to the challenges discussed and looks forward to re-engaging with representatives from these sectors to continue the dialogue and track the progress of ideas, discussions and initiatives aimed.

The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy chairman H.E Omar Al Olama, said, “In 2021, the UAE celebrated its Golden Jubilee, with the historic milestone also being an important marker for a transformational change in Dubai’s and the nation’s economy. Looking forward to the next fifty years, we are entering a new era defined by digitalization, Artificial Intelligence, automation and hyperconnectivity – all of which impact the nature and scope of business.”
