Solana Ecosystem

A new era for Helium, the Billion dollar project starts its move to Solana Ecosystem

The Helium Network

With the goal of providing a decentralized, open source, accessible, and secure wireless network Helium was founded in 2109. The network’s foundation was its own blockchain, which was used to incentivize the use and extension of a community-built wireless network. With one Million Hotspots deployed since launch and being the world’s largest LoRaWAN, Helium has coverage in over 77,000 towns and cities across 192 countries. With more than 8000 5g Radios deployed in the community in less than a year Helium’s 5g network is rapidly expanding.

Helium’s shift to Solana

The Web 3.0 ecosystem is all about connecting and discovering new chances to maximise value, and Helium Network (HNT) is one of the developing protocols taking full use of these opportunities. According to the protocol, it has successfully completed the conversion of its protocol to the Solana blockchain network.

Helium, a cryptocurrency networking project, began its migration to the Solana blockchain at noon Tuesday, forsaking its own crypto infrastructure in favor of a new, more reliable home.

The Web 3.0 wireless and Internet of Things is dominated by the Helium Ecosystem, welcoming nodes that are frequently connected in form of Hotspots. As previously stated, the transition to Solana will improve the functionality available to Helium users and innovators in particular.

Tokens of Helium will be migrated to Solana, and IOT(Internet of Things) Helium’s backbone hardware will convert itself from issuing HNT to IOT. Until Helium’s new infrastructure is operational on Solana, the token balances will be locked during the transfer period.

The network’s developers have started a 24-hour procedure that will take the Helium blockchain down and rebuild its essential metrics on Solana. During the transition, Helium’s smart contracts will be inoperable, but the network will reopen on Wednesday if all goes as planned.

Because Solana will be directly accountable for the base layer that houses the Helium protocol in terms of management and maintenance, the Helium team will have more time on their hands. The team has explained how they intend to use the time they will have at their disposal to help every member of the Helium ecosystem.

Solana Gaining Limelight

Moving the project to Solana provides it with a larger audience and a more reliable platform. Helium Blog Entries suggest that despite intermittent outages, Solana is more reliable and steady than Helium.

Helium Board member Arman Dezfuli-Arjomandi says it will help Helium with more resources and a larger pool of developers as comparatively Solana’s blockchain scripting language is more familiar than Helium’s scripting language.

The migration of Helium to Solana is not only a significant victory for the Helium team; it also places Solana at the forefront of dynamic innovation in terms of scalability. The Solana protocol has established itself as a go-to platform for transaction finality speed, cheap fees, and a strong community of innovators.

Aside from the Helium migration, the Solana protocol recently made headlines when its Saga mobile phone, the first of its type, hit the market. Solana has continuing to amaze its community, and Helium protocol users are looking forward to increased value addition now that Solana is the securing blockchain.
