The International Crimes Tribunal has sent documents to Interpol to issue a red notice against ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. However, on Sunday, the tribunal’s Chief Prosecutor Md. Tajul Islam gave this information to the media, causing confusion. It was reported somewhere that an Interpol red notice has been issued against Sheikh Hasina, citing the Chief Prosecutor. A post was also made on the Facebook page of the Bangladesh Awami League regarding this.
In such a situation, Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary of Chief Advisor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, posted on Facebook to clarify the matter. In the post on his verified Facebook account, he said that the Awami League has spread rumors that the press wing of the office of the chief advisor and the chief prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal are behind the rumors of issuing a red notice in the name of Sheikh Hasina.
He said, “I am clarifying that we have not spread any rumors that Interpol has issued a red notice against the genocide killer Sheikh Hasina. No one else in the press wing has made such a comment, nor have they told any journalist about it.
Awami League and their supporters are very good at spreading rumors.’
Shafiqul Alam A-O said, ‘But whether today or tomorrow, we will demand Hasina’s extradition for genocide, disappearances and corruption. We have an extradition agreement with India. We hope that India will respect this agreement.
