This Privacy Policy explains what information the Fox Periodical mobile application for Android (the “App”, package com.foxperiodical.app) collects, why, and how it is handled. It applies to the App only. Use of the foxperiodical.com website is covered by our website Privacy Policy.
Summary
Fox Periodical is an information and education app for cryptocurrency, stock and ETF market data and news. It does not require an account, and you do not sign in. The App shows market data and news — it does not offer trading, brokerage, or any way to buy or sell assets, and it is not financial advice.
What we collect
The App collects the minimum needed to deliver optional notifications:
- An app-generated device identifier. When the App first runs it creates a random identifier (a UUID) for your installation. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number, or Google account.
- A push notification token. If you enable notifications, the App receives a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token so we can deliver price alerts and news updates to your device.
Both are used solely for app functionality — registering your device so that price alerts you create and news notifications can reach it.
What we do NOT collect
- No name, email address, phone number, or account credentials.
- No precise or approximate location.
- No contacts, photos, messages, or files.
- No financial account numbers, holdings, or payment information.
- No browsing history or cross-app tracking identifiers.
Your watchlist and app settings (such as language and theme) are stored only on your device and are not transmitted to us.
How the data is used
The device identifier and push token are used only to:
- register your device so it can receive the price alerts you set up; and
- send the crypto and markets news notifications for the language you have chosen.
We do not use this data for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and we do not sell or share it with third parties for their own purposes.
Sharing and service providers
Push notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a service provided by Google. To deliver a notification, your push token is processed by Google’s FCM infrastructure. Google’s handling of that data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
Data security
All communication between the App and our servers uses encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). The device identifier and push token are stored on our server only for as long as your device is registered for notifications.
Data retention and deletion
Because there is no account, you control your data through the App and your device:
- Turn off notifications (in the App or Android system settings) to stop receiving pushes.
- Uninstall the App to remove its local data (watchlist, settings, identifier) from your device.
- To request deletion of the device registration and any associated price alerts from our server, contact us at the address below and include a description of your request. Uninstalling also causes the registration to lapse.
Children
Fox Periodical is intended for a general, adult audience interested in financial markets. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Permissions the App requests
- Internet — to load live market data and news.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — optional; only to show the alerts and news updates you opt into.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date.
