Crypto Watchlist
Build a personal watchlist of the coins you care about and track their live prices and 24h moves in one place. Your list is saved privately in your browser — no account needed.
What the crypto watchlist does
There are thousands of cryptocurrencies, but you only follow a handful. The watchlist cuts through that noise: add the coins you actually care about and see their live price and 24-hour change together on one screen. Enter how much you hold and your average buy price, and it goes a step further — tracking your profit or loss per coin and a portfolio total, so a simple watchlist doubles as a private P/L tracker. Because it reads from the same live feed as our markets table, the numbers are always current.
How to use the watchlist (step by step)
- Add a coin — pick it from the dropdown and press + Add.
- (Optional) Add your holding — enter the amount you hold and your average buy price to unlock profit/loss tracking.
- Watch it update — each coin shows live price, 24h change and, if you added holdings, your live P/L plus a portfolio total.
- Manage the list — remove any coin with the × button. Your list is remembered automatically next time you visit.
Watchlist vs portfolio tracker vs exchange
It helps to know what this tool is — and what it deliberately is not.
| This watchlist | Exchange portfolio | Full portfolio app | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Account needed | No | Yes | Usually |
| Data leaves your device | No — local only | Yes | Yes |
| Tracks P/L | Yes (manual entry) | Yes (automatic) | Yes |
| Syncs across devices | No | Yes | Yes |
| Custody / can trade | No | Yes | No |
Why keep a watchlist
A focused watchlist keeps your attention on what matters and helps you avoid impulsive decisions on coins you do not follow. It lets you spot moves quickly, monitor potential entries without logging into an exchange, and keep a clear picture of how your real holdings are doing — all in one tab. The discipline of a short, deliberate list is itself an edge: it stops you chasing every coin that trends on social media.
How to build a watchlist that actually helps
- Keep it short. A handful of conviction coins beats a wall of fifty tickers you will never act on.
- Separate "hold" from "watch." Add holdings to the coins you own; keep a few others as candidates you are researching.
- Add your real average buy price to turn the list into an honest P/L tracker rather than a wish list.
- Review on a schedule, not on every price wobble — daily or weekly is plenty for most investors.
Your privacy
Common mistakes to avoid
- Overloading the list. Too many coins turns a focus tool into noise.
- Forgetting it is per-device. Your list on your laptop will not appear on your phone.
- Treating P/L as final. It is a live snapshot at current prices, not a realised result or a tax figure.
- Relying on it as a backup. Clearing site data erases the list — keep your own record of real holdings.

Frequently asked questions
Is my watchlist private?
Yes — it is stored only in your browser (localStorage), not on our servers.
Will it sync across devices?
Not yet — it is per-device for now.
How do I create a crypto watchlist?
Pick a coin from the dropdown and press + Add. Repeat for each coin you want to follow. Your list is saved automatically in your browser, so it is there the next time you visit — no account or sign-up needed.
Does the watchlist track my profit and loss?
Yes. Add the amount you hold and your average buy price for a coin, and it shows your live unrealised profit or loss for that coin plus a running portfolio total across everything you have entered.
Where is my watchlist data stored?
Entirely in your own browser using local storage. It is never uploaded to our servers and is not tied to any account, so it stays private to your device and browser.
Can I access the same watchlist on my phone and laptop?
Not currently. Because the list is stored locally for privacy rather than in an account, it does not sync — each device keeps its own list.
What happens to my watchlist if I clear my browser data?
Clearing site data or local storage removes the saved list. If your holdings matter to you, keep a separate note of them so you can rebuild the list.
Do I need to connect a wallet or exchange?
No. The watchlist never touches your wallet or exchange. You type in holdings manually if you want P/L tracking, which is why it can stay completely private.
How often do the watchlist prices update?
Prices come from the same live market feed as the rest of the site and refresh automatically while the page is open, so your list and P/L stay current.
How many coins can I add to my watchlist?
There is no hard limit, but a focused list of a handful of coins is far more useful than dozens you will never act on.
Is the unrealised P/L the same as my tax liability?
No. It is a live snapshot of profit or loss at current prices before you sell. Realised gains and tax depend on your actual trades, holding period and local rules — consult a tax professional.
Can I remove a coin from my watchlist?
Yes. Each row has a × button that removes that coin immediately, and the change is saved automatically.
Is the watchlist really free with no account?
Yes — there is no registration, no email and no paywall. It works the moment you add your first coin.
Can I edit my holding amount or buy price later?
Yes. Remove the coin and add it again with your updated amount and average buy price to refresh its P/L.
